Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue ellis-taylor, an American screen and stage actor and producer. She is best known as a film actress for her role as a character in Ray Undercover Brother (Ray Undercover Brother) and The Mentalist. She graduated with an B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School of acting at New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actor as well as a producer and director. She works in television and film. She began her career as an actress in theatre but then proceeded to appear in many television shows, as well as independent and mainstream films. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for which she received not just critical acclaim but also received a host of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. In 1995 she appeared in her first performance in The Tempest as Ariel. The actress has appeared in Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film work is highlighted by her appearances in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. For her work on television she's received praise for her performance as a regular character on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
